Live Tracks

Live Tracks program picture

Live Tracks highlights a wide range of live musical performances, from early 60s rock to modern rockabilly, from blues to bluegrass.  The program frequently features local performances recorded and mixed here in Davis by host Jim Buchanan.

Hunter Thompson is credited with the expression "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro."  Welcome to the pro shop!  "Always look on the bright side of life." [Monty Python, 'Life of Brian'].  We make up the rules about how to feel.  "No one here gets out alive."  [Sam Clemens]  Too soon?  "I'm working hard, at the art, of doing nothing." [Mumbo Gumbo]   I'll be back.  See that you are, too.  "As always, live simply, love generously, and be kind." [Moseanko]    Peace.

The program Live Tracks began broadcasting on KDRT September 30, 2004.  As of March 2020 there have been 592 unique programs produced.

Live Tracks for 8:00pm on Jul 5th, 2018

Enjoy an historic, rare Live Tracks from July of 2008.  Liam Creighton sits in with me and brings refinement and grace to the show (as well as some great music from his library).  Since this program was broadcast, Liam has spent a year in France and the balance in England, his native country.  Their gain, our loss.

The smoking lamp is lit, and recreational beverages are the order of the day.  Peace.

This show has not been aired since 2008.

P.S. -  Live Tracks will resume its normal, Thursday night live broadcast format beginning July 19th at 7 PM.  Go Giants.

Hi Jim,
Your show makes for great bike commute music...regarding Daltry & Townsend "cultural" was the Kennedy Center awards...presented by, you guessed it...dubya! Oh, and the Sac. Blues Review number is reminiscent of the Cealis commercial on TeeVee...any connection?? Just wondering, Drt-clod Craig
