Praise Time with Preacher

Praise Time with Preacher

The word "gospel" is derived for the old Anglo-Saxon word meaning “good message” or “good news." Host Preacher believes gospel music is powerful, whether the listener is or is not Christian — that everyone can enjoy listening to gospel because it is uplifting and inspiring, sung with passion and belief from the artist, touching all who hear it in a good and heartfelt way. The aim of Praise Time is to help listeners find what Preacher believes lives in everyone: a good spirit that drives us to be the best we can be.

Live Tuesday 4-5pm
Replays Sunday 7-8am

Twang Thang

Twang-Thang-farmstead-image-Yolo

Twang Thang features outlaw country old and new, showcasing the folks who sowed the harder-edged musical seeds for what we today call Americana, as well as the newer artists who continue the tunes and outlaw ethos forward. George Jones, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Lucinda Willimans, Steve Earle, Dwight Yoakum, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Billie Jo Shaver ... Americana music didn't just show up one day — it has deep and varied country music roots. Twang Thang explores the originators, the newcomers, and the music that happened along the way!

Davisville, Feb. 3, 2025: ‘NextGen Talks’ host Jazmin Garcia brims with enthusiasm

Mon, 02/03/2025 - 5:30pm | Bill Buchanan

Jazmin Garcia at KDRT January 2025.JPG

You’ll hear a lot of enthusiasm from today’s guest on Davisville — also love for Yolo County, curiosity for the world around her, the importance of “bringing youth perspectives to the table,” talking up civic engagement, appreciation for friendly neighbors, what she notices as she splits her days between Davis and West Sacramento, and respect for officeholders who will help you regardless of whether you voted for them or not.

And that’s only some of the ground we cover. Meet Jazmin Garcia, a Davis Senior High School junior who lives in West Sacramento and the host of new KDRT program NextGen Talks.

Rain! The Audio Ecotone for Jan. 31, 2025

Thu, 01/30/2025 - 5:30pm | Eddy Owt

falling_rain_drops_on_umbrella.jpg

Rain ... oh, you're a fickle visitor. Sometimes you stay too long; sometimes you don't come at all. In the Davis area, we've gone nearly a month without the wet stuff, much to the chagrin of farmers, gardeners and water managers. That's about to change with this weekend's storms and we'll be doing some celebratory rain dances on the Audio Ecotone to the music of Bessie Smith, Madness, the California Honeydrops, Old 97s, Chyi Yu, the Brangs, Tom Waits and more! Listen live Friday at 3-4 p.m. Pacific on KDRT 95.7 FM in Davis or online at kdrt.org. Replays Saturday 6-7 p.m. and Tuesday 7-8 a.m.
