For YEARS (years!) I wondered what the heck David Lindley was singing about. Come to find out, through an old soul cat who hung out in East L.A. back in the early 1960's, romeo's were a particular style of slippers that the hip dudes would often wear after a day on the streets.
Thus, when Lindley sang, "she took off my romeo's", it may have been a prelude to an evening of amorous activity.
Music...and love...hard to live without either of 'em!
