jazz After Dark Mar 12th, 2013

 

Focusing on three jazz greats tonight: Count Basie, Johnny Hodges, and Oscar Peterson. Each performed with other great jazz artists.We've got Count Basie backing Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra. Johnny Hodges, who performed for many years with Duke Ellington, is here with Dukes band, as well as weith Wild Bill Davis and Grant Green. Oscar Peterson performs with Louis Armstrong, and then with Count Basie. The music spans the decades from 1937 through 1974. Program repeats Saturdays at 9 pm and Mondays at 6 pm.
