Liane Moody and the many facets of STEAC, on Imagining Yolo Davis, Nov. 17, 2023Fri, 11/17/2023 - 6:10pm | Pieter PastoorToday we sit down with Liane Moody, the executive director of the Short Term Emergency Aid Committee, who explains the three areas -- rent, food and bills -- where this Davis nonprofit helps our neighbors who need short-term assistance. This wonderful organization could not function without its many volunteers. For example, here's more about its Food Project, whose mission is to help STEAC's food pantry "have a steady, reliable source of non-perishable food year-round by collecting food from community members every other month. While food drives are an invaluable and critical source of food, they provide only about 30 to 40% of our needs, and we often run short between these events." |
