Thursday LIVE concert series hosts Misner and Smith, and Scholer's Waiting for Bruce

Davis music fans are in for a treat on Thursday evening, Aug. 4th at the Odd Fellows Hall where the monthly concert get-together will feature a highly concentrated dose of local talent. Doors open at 7pm for this free event, and at 7:30pm Misner & Smith will start off the evening with a set of their well-crafted, well-written, Americana songs delivered in a seemingly effortless 2-part harmony package. Following an intermission, Bill Scholer and Waiting for Bruce will hit the stage and there's just no telling where that will lead (blues, funk, etc.). Bill Scholer will be joined by Kurt Roggli on guitar, Jeff Simons and Ron Cowden on bass, and Jeff Devine on drums. Since this is a going away concert for Bill Scholer (who is joining his wife Karla in Japan for 2 years), it is likely that there will be some surprise guests turning up to join Bill on-stage. KDRT's Jim Buchanan will be recording the concert for future air-play on his show, Live Tracks. The Odd Fellows Hall is located at 415 Second Street, in downtown Davis. The Thursday LIVE! concert series occurs on the first Thursday of each month, is always free, and is organized by Kurt & Juelie Roggli, in partnership with the Davis Odd Fellows Music Committee, Watermelon Music, and is regularly recorded by KDRT's Jim Buchanan.
