Join me this Sunday LIVE from 7 to 9 pm with the fabled & legendary tales of Neal Cassady and how the tune "Cassidy" came alive. Break out your trusty road & mind maps and get ready for a journey 'round the Great West and beyond. BUT WAIT! There is more!!!!

KDRT's finest, Mountain Mama, is coming out of the hills in the nick of time to join me as we double-clutch the twisting roads to nirvana.

The Golden Road laces up those Red, White and Blue Suede Shoes

Hello out there in Radio Land!

This edition of the Golden Road salutes Independence Day by diving into the deep end of the Grateful Dead Americana pool with plenty of sounds from the long history of the band, and a special appearance of the illustrious Lord Buckley with his hip take on the Boston Tea Party...big thanks to George Moore for the vinyl to disc transfer.

Hope you can tune in and give a listen to a perfect soundtrack for the 4th of July...and be sure to stop by the KDRT/DMA booth at Community Park this upcoming Saturday for some cool treats to beat the heat.

The Legendary Frost Amphitheatre Aud's

Hello out there in Radio Land!

On the May 31st broadcast of The Golden Road, listeners may tune in to KDRT and hear the legendary Frost Amphitheatre show from October 10, 1982. You may ask, "What makes this Grateful Dead show so legendary?"...well, though you will hear plenty about it on the broadcast, here are a couple of things that may help to answer the question:

There are a couple of fine women in this town who have always supported KDRT & Davis Media Access. They will be playing this Saturday at 7:00 pm at the Davis Arts Center. Be sure to check them out and rock your soul...and Cathy's soul. She really needs it...and so do we!

Some Rise, Some Climb...to get to Terrapin

Hey out there in Radio Land!

This Sunday, on the Golden Road, we will highlight the legendary 3/18/77 show of the Grateful Dead at San Francisco's infamous Winterland Arena. Hard to let the month of March go on by without turning the spotlight on a show that included the first pairing of Scarlet Begonias & Fire On The Mountain, breakout versions of Estimated Prophet, and the beautifully orchestrated Terrapin Station including the once-performed "Alhambra" portion of the suite.

"Joe Craven Travels The Magical Golden Road" - Exclusive Interview w/Joe!

Hello out there in Radio Land!

Last Sunday we had the fortune of having Yolo County's "Ambassador of Good Vibes" and supremely talented, internationally known multi-instrumentalist, Joe Craven in the KDRT studio. Joe is headlining the second benefit concert for KDRT at the Odd Fellows Hall in Downtown Davis on March 6th and was happy to stop by the station for an exclusive interview before he hit the road for a tour stop in Washington.

The Golden Road Show

Hey fellow Radio Landers!

The is my first plunge into the blog pool.  One thing I would like to mention is that there were more tracks to the 11/30 "Hunt Special" broadcast of The Golden Road.  What did not make to the playlist (due to my technical nubialness!) was:

Wharf Rat and One More Saturday Nite, both tune were also from the Wembley Empire Pool theatre in London, April of '72.
