Helping Phriendly Hour, January 26, 2012 - Playing 11-14-1995 U of Central Florida Arena

Helping Phriendly Hour tonight features bluegrass and rock highlights from both sets I and II.

Its a great show not only because it happens to land on my birthday....

...but also this Phish 1.0 show drops smack in the middle of one of the best fall tours ever, in the year that flung the band into rock-star-madness...

...plus it features one of the all-time three best versions of Stash ( take a listen, and just try to suggest otherwise!)...

...plus we haven't heard I'm Blue, I'm Lonesome (a beautiful tune by Bill Monroe) in over a decade, so a loud version of that alone should entice you to tune in!

Set 1: Chalk Dust Torture, Foam, Billy Breathes, Divided Sky, Esther > Free, Julius, I'm Blue, I'm Lonesome, Cavern

Set 2: Maze, Gumbo, Stash -> Manteca -> Stash -> Dog Faced Boy -> Stash, Strange Design, You Enjoy Myself -> Immigrant Song Jam -> You Enjoy Myself

The Grateful Dead New Years Eve Special on The Golden Road airs December 25

Hello out there in Radio Land!

On December 25th, The Golden Road show will air it's annual broadcast of some epic sounds recorded live on some of those epic New Years Eve concerts in San Francisco by The Grateful Dead. If you ever had the supreme opportunity to attend one, you know just what I mean...and if you didn't, well...you can get a real good taste of what the soundtrack to these grand affairs was like!

In this edition of The Golden Road, we'll be pulling out some great material from NYE shows at the Cow Palace, Winterland Arena and what is now known as the Bill Graham Civic Center (formerly SF Civic). If you want to catch the signal from the K-D-R-T antenna, the live broadcast will be Sunday, 12/25 from 7 to 9 pm, and replays will be on Friday, 12/30 from 11 pm to 1 am, and Saturday, 12/31 from 3 to 5 pm. And, of course, you can catch it anytime at your leisure via the station web site...www.kdrt.org

Here's the broadcast:
