This Is About You So I know you’re writing lots of checks these days … everywhere you turn you’re being asked to contribute to important causes … well, I’ve got another one for you. Free speech is the bedrock of our freedoms in this country and key to that freedom is that the peoples’ voices can be heard … not the voice of corporations or monopolies, not the voice of whoever is in charge, but the voice of the people. Here’s where you come in: We are a small, well-oiled organization here in Davis doing its part. Davis Media Access is preserving the voice of the people. This is commercial free, community media at its finest. We are local, we are accessible, we are members of our community and we want to hear what you have to say! Through local television station Channel 15, our school station Channel 17, and the all volunteer radio station KDRT 95.7, people’s voices are being heard here in Davis, and worldwide through our websites. These voices are your voices … your candidates for city council, the voices of your schools, your children, your neighbors. We aren’t afraid to bring you the voice of injustice, and on the brighter side, the voices of musicians you won’t hear anywhere else on the radio. A key reason we are able to bring you these voices is because our motives are not profit driven. We do not sell our content to the highest bidder, but we do need to keep our doors open, which is where you come in! If you believe in preserving the power of free speech, and in the importance of community media, we need your help. This is our Spring Campaign and we hope -- no need -- to raise $18,000 by the end of June. In order to do that, we need people like you to invest in us. Just like the human efforts that go into this media center, every little bit counts, so send us $20 … send us $10. DMA is located at 1623 5th Street here in Davis.
