Dead Wax Episode 10 Wednesday night @ 5pm. We'll hear brand new music from Cory Branan, Luke Winslow-King, and Whiskey Shivers! Plus we'll get funky with The Band and Little Feat, and hear from 2 of my favorite guitarists, Dave Alvin and Junior Brown. And we'll finish the show with 2 tracks from a top secret vinyl, courtesy of DJ Rod. Plus, our Artist of the Week is Jason Isbell! We'll play 3 tracks from his fantastic 2013 album, Southeastern. His music is a blend of country, R&B, and Southern Rock, all packaged up solidly into the Americana genre. Widely recognized for his guitar skills and lyrics, he swept this year's Americana Music Awards, winning Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Artist of the Year. Born in Greenhill, Alabama, he became wrapped-up in the Muscle Shoals music scene, including its artists, and you can hear these R&B influences throughout his discography. Jason is a former member of the Drive-By Truckers, leaving the band in 2007 to assemble his current band, the 400 Unit.
