wow! I'd like to see the DDA and the man who talked on behalf of mr. Dev have a debate in a public forum. I bet the DDA's career would be short lived. This DDA and the judge needs to be investigated. I believe that they both will get their 15 minutes of fame soon. I look forward to seeing this story in 48 hours or on Oprah or other tv shows. Yolo County needs to be investigated. Thank you mr. Greenwald, the man on behalf of the family and the Reverend for enlightening us. I would like to hear more of this story.

It seems as though the more and more we hear about this story, the more bizarre it gets. For example, the defendant volunteered to take a lie detector test? That doesn't seem to be the behavior of a man who is guilty. The police didn't speak to anyone in the family or friends? And, most importantly, the so-called pretext was a literal translation? Anyone who speaks a second language knows that you can't translate literally. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a true meaning and understanding with literal translations. Ever hear the phrase, "lost in translation?"

I think this needs to be explored in greater detail. There has been a lot of news in the media about the corruption of the Yolo County DA's office. Some people are inclined to think that with such a high number of charges against Mr. Dev there must be some truth to it. ..but, now with the revelation that they receive money for each conviction, a new perspective unfolds, especially in conjunction with the other news out there. How much do they get for each conviction of this nature? Mr. Greenwald said something about the same thing with the gang injunction. How much money do they receive for that kind of conviction?

There is a new commission that supposedly is looking into Yolo County DA's office. Is this something that will be brought to their attention? I hope so.

Other articles I have seen on cases in Yolo County seem to have a huge number of charges too. This seems to be a strategy of the DA's office in order to get a conviction. Rack up the charges so the jury will believe that a person is guilty even before the trial starts. In an article a couple of days ago, DA Reisig claimed he had 20,000 prosecutions in his three years. The DA's office prosecutes 99% of all complaints. This sounds like someone is over prosecuting. What is happening to justice in Yolo County?

It seems obvious now that Dev did not get a fair trial.
No investigation--the DA didn't even interview Dev.
Evidence of her committing perjury and fraud were denied.
The DA racked up the charges and had no specificity.
The DA's office gets funding based on convictions of rape cases.

I think the people of Yolo County should call for an investigation into their justice system. They are calling for an investigation into the incident at UC Davis. Is there a connection between how business is done at the DA's office with federal funds and what we have seen at UC Davis? It's a small town......

The more I hear about this case, the more I am convinced that Ajay Dev deserves a retrial. Thanks so much, David, for your continued reporting on the case. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for continuing this story. I hope there is more to come. I would like to know what the Reverend meant by bigger implications of the Nepal documents not being submitted into evidence.

Thank you for allowing your listeners the opportunity to hear more details about this case, David! This man is sitting in jail sentenced for 378 years while questionable issues surrounding his guilt and the jury’s verdict are still unanswered. This is more than tragic! The illogical decision of the jury; no physical evidence; literal translation of the pre-text phone call comment spoken in Nepali language; judge not allowing key evidence (Nepali court documents) in court; perjury and forgery committed by the accuser, lack of a thorough investigation; no dysfunctional behavior related to rape or trauma; accuser never asked for a restraining order; “cash for convictions program” motivation by the DA’s office; DA never interviewed the accused, his family, friends or neighbors nor investigated the crime scenes; racism and perhaps even profiling concerns and so much more. I understand there’s a commission being formed to investigate the Yolo County DA’s office. I would like to see an investigation on this case. Please keep us informed about the progress and outcome of this commission. I visited the www.advocatesforajay.com website and it's very informative.

How can the DA Mount, Judge Fall, Detective Hermann, and 12 jurors sleep so soundly night after night? Have they not even questioned whether they were all responsible in sending this innocent man to prison for 5 lifetimes? Is this what America is about? I thought "to kill a mockingbird" kind of movies only happened at the movies, not in real life. They needed to have the actor from "12 angry men" as a member of the jury. Looks like the jury members defied almost all logic in this case. Hope all of this is revealed during the appeal. If Ajay is freed, then the justice will have occurred. My only hope then is that all of the members in the convicting party asks for forgiveness with God. The DA, the judge and the detective hopefully will realize that our law was not made to win at any cost for the People of Yolo County and this Country and thereby making a mockery of our justice system.
